The information below is for Night Owl members who frequented and supported the Night Owl Soul Nights at the Sale Masonic. We want to be straight with our members unlike the treatment we have been given by the Sale Masonic Hall Board of Directors and DJ Mark Robinson, (who is no longer and will not be in the future one of our DJs). Our nights will continue at Altrincham Masonic, Branksome Hall, on the 3rd Friday of each Month. Another night in Sale will start on Saturday 7th March 2009 and will be held on the 1st Saturday of each month. This Sale Venue will be disclosed to our members by this Web Site and text messages.
I decided in October 2008 to stop Sale Masonic after the constant complaints we were getting from Sale Masonic Board about our Night Owl Members.
Smoking out the front and making too much noise (which as you are all aware we did not allow as smoking was out the back).
Limiting our numbers to 200
Accusing our Night Owl Members of verbally abusing the bar staff because of the long wait to be served at the Bar. (queues at the bar which took up to 1hr for people to be served, which could have been avoided if as we kept requesting they put more Bar Staff on.)
Accusing Night Owl of being responsible for two of their Manageresses resigning. (One left to be Manageress at the social club at around the corner.) The other because of the incident that happened at a private 50th Birthday Party, (which Janette and I attended as guests) where the Police were called due to the guests smoking and drinking outside on Tatton Road.
When you read below you will realise why the Masonic Hall were making these allegations.

At the last Soul Night on 6th December 2008 our DJ Mark Robinson refused to attend after a fallout with Harold Sadler – House Manager of Sale Masonic. Harold Sadler then informed us on this night of a Directors Meeting at Sale Masonic Hall that DJ Mark Robinson had attended, we wish to share these minutes with our Night Owls Members.
Please read below the minutes of the Meeting of Directors of Sale Masonic Hall on the 25 June 2008. After numerous requests for the minutes of this meeting they were forwarded to Night Owl Soul Club before the end of 2008.

Minutes of the Meeting of Directors on Wednesday 25th June 208., at Tatton Road Sale.
Present: E Dunn (ED) - Chairman, A H Basford (AHB) - Treasurer, R G Whitticombe (RGW) - Secretary, H Sadler (HS) House Manager, D Tomlinson (DT), J M Hirst (JMH)
Opening: The meeting was opened, by the Chairman at 7.30pm

Minutes: The Minutes of the meeting held on 28 May, having been circulated, were approved and confirmed by the signature of the Chairman.
Matters Arising: Night Owl will not disclose the first part of this section as it contains private matters concerning Masonic Business. The section below is concerning Night Owl Soul Club.
MARK ROBINSON the DJ for Night Owls was invited to address the Board over his feelings of the situation of Night Owls and the possibility of running a Soul Night instead of the Night Owls Soul Night.
This matter was discussed at length and Mark answered any questions put to him.
There were a number of issues to be dealt with, including the way in which a transition from Night Owls could be managed. The suggested "new night" would be a Friday and the income split between the DJ and Hall - Bar Takings would be kept by the Hall.
It was proposed by RGW, seconded by DT and passed by the Board that the booking for Night Owls not be ratified for 2009, and that, after a short break, (possibly January and February 2009), the Soul Nights be reinstituted with Mark
ie on a Friday: this would enable the Ballroom to be used for outside functions on Saturdays. January and February we could have a similar Soul Nights function until Mark took over as a regular booking.
It was appreciated the matter of informing the Night Owls was a delicate one and needed careful handling. ACTION RGW
Mark Robinson due to reasons we do not know, is refusing to speak to Harold Sadler and
is now not doing his Soul Nights. Sale Masonic have now approached another Dj Steve Sales, from Unit 1 Promotions to ask him to take over. Steve rang me to ask what was the situation, I have informed him of the above.
It would seem that Sale Masonic Board of Directors are realising that by not have Night Owl Members buying drinks over the bar their profits will take a massive fall.
They even offered us our dates for 2009 but we have an alternative venue arranged with people who are honest and trustworthy.
